High-Security Facility Cleaning
The facility had a high-volume logistics schedule, and all work needed to comply with strict security procedures. There could be no downtime, no interference with staff or deliveries, and full adherence to health and safety standards. The cleaning solution had to deliver professional-grade results while respecting the operational demands of a fast-moving, high-profile environment.
We carried out a specialist external cladding cleaning service for a high-volume logistics facility, ensuring the building’s exterior was restored to a professional, pristine standard without disrupting operations. The cleaning program was carefully designed to meet strict safety, security, and operational requirements. Our work included:
External Cladding Cleaning: The full cladding system was cleaned using soft washing and low-pressure techniques, safely removing dirt, grime, and environmental deposits while protecting the surfaces and surrounding infrastructure.
Access and Security Compliance: Every access point and cleaning method was cleared through the site’s strict security protocols, allowing the team to work efficiently while maintaining operational integrity.
Scheduling Around Operations: Cleaning was carried out out-of-hours to avoid interfering with deliveries, forklifts, or staff activity, ensuring seamless continuity of all site operations.
Health and Safety Management: Risk assessments and safe working procedures were followed for all activities, including working at height and handling specialist cleaning equipment.
Quality Control: Each stage of cleaning was monitored to ensure consistent, professional-grade results across the entire external envelope of the building.
The client is a leading global e-commerce and logistics company, operating one of their major UK distribution facilities in Poole. They required a full external clean of the facility’s cladding system with zero disruption to operations. The project needed to fully comply with strict on-site protocols while maintaining the flow of deliveries and other operational activities.
The entire exterior cladding system was cleaned to a professional standard, restoring the facility’s appearance and ensuring a visibly pristine finish.
All work was completed out-of-hours with no disruption to site operations, deliveries, or internal logistics activities.
Strict security and access protocols were fully adhered to, ensuring compliance with the client’s operational requirements.
Health and safety standards were maintained throughout, with no incidents reported.
The client expressed high satisfaction with the efficiency, safety compliance, and quality of the cleaning.
The project demonstrated Almeda’s ability to deliver large-scale, high-profile external cleaning for operationally sensitive, security-conscious facilities.
Hanson
The facility’s management activities were being performed by a mixture of in-house resources and external 3rd party companies. All these activities were managed by the Hanson Facilities Manager, which consumed a significant proportion of their time.
This focus on the day-to-day organisation of resources, and responding to reactive issues, meant that they were never able to plan long-term strategies for the facility.
In early 2015, Hanson chose to complete the entire Facilities Management provision under a single contract.
Almeda provided TFM, covering:

The Shared Service Centre at Chipping Sodbury plays a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of work within the rest of Hanson’s business.
On awarding the contract, after a competitive tender process, Hanson commented that the local, personal nature of Almeda’s business, and the close alignment of the two companies’ environmental values, were key differentiators. Since mobilisation, Almeda has worked closely with the customer to meet expectations and set long-term innovation objectives.
By providing a single point of contact for all hard services, the customer was able to focus their time and energy on long term opportunities for facility improvements, such as energy efficiencies from upgrading the external lighting to LED alternatives.
Since opening in March 2016, the bright environment and welcoming Almeda staff has helped increase the popularity of the café, and the catering team are keen to keep improving. We actively seek feedback from the 300 employees on site to understand what is working well and what can be improved. From this feedback, we are able to ensure that the food offered meets their needs, further increasing the popularity.

English Heritage
With over 400 historic sites, monuments, and buildings in England, each bringing their own unique challenges, English Heritage was looking for a company able to manage 23 iconic sites across the South West, including the coastal castles of Pendennis and St Mawes, as well as Tintagel Castle, forever linked with the legend of King Arthur, and Dartmouth Castle, one of the most beautifully located fortresses in England.
On being awarded the contract, Almeda worked tirelessly to mobilise effectively, an effort which ensured that when the contract went live, we were prepared for the first call-outs made on that very first day.
Demonstrating right from the start of our relationship exceptional customer service was key to delivering the needs of English Heritage and this was evidenced by our Mobilisation process. To ensure that the dedicated Contract Manager had an in-depth and meaningful knowledge of each of the sites, he operated as a PPM engineer and worked, hands-on, delivering all tasks on the schedule PPM.
Once he was fully immersed and 100% familiar with each site, he then developed a schedule to optimise travel, time, and resource in the most cost-effective way. When it came to handing over the reins to the dedicated engineer, English Heritage could be confident that they would see a seamless and efficient integration to BAU which has continued to this day.

By offering a dedicated team and a 24/7/365 available helpdesk, coupled with our vast knowledge and experience of performing cyclical tasks under similar contracts, we were able to offer English Heritage Trust a cost-effective service that more than met their objectives.
