Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Engineer Supervisor to oversee and support our team of engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards, and delivering high-quality service to our clients.
Operational Duties
- To take ownership of the front-line delivery of service to a portfolio in terms of planned and reactive activities.
- To offer the flexibility of directly delivering core building fabric works, minor fabric repairs and improvements.
- To be technically competent to diagnose faults and identify potential improvements in all aspects of the built environment.
- To be familiar with the supply chain and competent to instruct suppliers in the needs of the facility.
- To ensure the full application of safe systems of work which as a minimum will reflect the Almeda H&S policy and procedures.
- Ambassadorial representation of the Almeda brand and values.
- Liaise with contract managers and help desk teams to prioritise work requests and maintain service levels.
- Line manager for a team of up to 10 engineers.
- Support the onboarding and training of new engineers, ensuring they understand processes and expectations.
- Hold monthly team meetings and monthly 1 to 1 meetings with engineers.
- Work closely with the Helpdesk manager to ensure the engineering and helpdesk functions are aligned and working together.
- Continuously review the skillsets and blend within the engineering team to meet the requirements of the business.
- Attend monthly Operational meetings and be the focal point for the engineering team.
- Form part of the out of hours on call rota roughly 1 in 10 weeks a year.
- Assisting with the allocation of out of hours calls within the engineering team.
Strategic Duties

- To actively seek methods of improvement and innovation in all systems and processes.
- To conduct yourself and all activities in line with the Almeda values whilst encouraging others to do the same.
- To keep apprised of all legislative, quality and environmental standards in relation to the services being delivered, whether in house or via supply chain.
- To commit to personal development in pursuit of all of the above.
Core Qualities
- Electrical / JIB or Electromechanical Qualification with at least four years’ experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering or maintenance role within facilities management, construction, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- A robust understanding of heating, HWS, ventilation, control systems and water hygiene.
- An appreciation of the statutory requirements within the built environment.
- IT literate, with experience using JobLogic or similar CAFM systems desirable.
